    Edward is a state parolee who wears an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle. He served six prison sentences for committing hundreds of residential burglaries to support a heroin addiction. He complains that his room at the hotel feels like a prison cell but is grateful when he thinks of the alternative: living in a homeless shelter.
